Spacemark®

Spacemark in its entirety provides an end-to-end local search and share service for consumers to use directly.

Through making Spacemark available directly to consumers, m-spatial is gathering a wealth of knowledge about how to best present new local search and share features to consumers and how to meet consumers needs in delivering such services – a key part of its proposition to major partners looking to rollout and promote local search and share services to their customers.

Fundamental to the Spacemark service is the concept of a Spacemark. A Spacemark can be thought of as being similar to a bookmark. Users can ‘Spacemark’ places and then access their Spacemarks from web and mobile (and compatible satnav systems).

Spacemarks provide a means of consumers sharing information on places, either across their own devices, or between themselves and friends and colleagues. Each time a consumer views a Spacemark they get the benefit of a ‘rich experience of place’, including content such as business descriptions, photographs, what’s on and maps.

The full Spacemark service offers a web-site at www.spacemark.com for consumers to sign up to the service and manage their Spacemarks – in addition to adding user generated content and sharing Spacemarks with friends and colleagues. They are also able to access a Spacemark mobile service that offers access to their Spacemarks, as well as a full mobile local search capability.

Apart from providing critical inputs into m-spatial’s market leading product development, the Spacemark service also forms the basis of m-spatial’s ‘Spacemark inside’ co-branding initiative.

‘Spacemark inside’ allows third parties to tap into the benefits of the Spacemark service functionality for integration with their branded offerings. The breadth of the Spacemark functionality they take advantage of depends on their needs as a brand and current mobile activities.

Send-to-mobile

Send-to-mobile offers the ability for web-site owners to include a co-branded button on their web-site that provides consumers with the ability to capture places they encounter on the site and save them in their Spacemark store – for later access either from their mobile or Spacemark compatible personal navigation system.

For those brand owners with a branded mobile presence, APIs can be provided to allow mobile access to consumers’ Spacemark stores – allowing a link up between branded web and branded mobile services of major brands.

For brands with no branded mobile presence, consumers can use m-spatial’s Spacemark branded mobile service to both access Spacemarks captured from the brand’s web-site, and optionally to see branded content about venues they have information on, within the Spacemark mobile service.

Compatibility with 118/411 Directory Services

m-spatial offers an API to all 118/411 directory assistance providers to allow them to give their users the option to save the details of a business they have requested into their Spacemark store – for later use from their Spacemark compatible mobile phone or personal navigation service. These services may be branded by the 118/411 provider or third parties.

Compatibility with SatNav systems

m-spatial offers an API to all personal navigation providers to allow them to give their users the option to select destinations from their Spacemark store – as a means of seamlessly capturing intended destinations from third party web-sites and voice directory assistance services.

For brands promoting ‘Spacemark inside’ a Spacemark micro-site is available for integration with their web presence.
